Good morning, Magandang Umaga Po, Taja Hao! I would like to share with you the blessings I received during the two months of the On-Field-Training.
굿모닝, 마간당 우마가 뽀, 따자 하오! 저는 필리핀에서 가졌던 타문화 적응 훈련을 통해 받은 은혜를 나누고자 합니다.
THANKSGIVING (감사)
I want to express my gratitude to God for allowing me to participate in the cross-cultural On-Field-Training which was held at the Paul Mission International Human Resources Development Center (TPMI-HRDC), Philippines. I also want to extend my sincere thanks to Dr. Paul Lee, the training director of Chinese Missionary Training, who encouraged and guided me during my training journey. Thank you, Rev. & Mrs. Lee, the HRDC director, for accepting me and providing me all kinds of help. I can't forget the wholehearted assistance and loving care of FMT coordinators and HRDC staff. I would like to convey my gratitude to my fellow trainees from FMT13 (Foreign Missionary Training for English Speakers) and KMT47 (Korean Missionary Training) cohorts who shared the happy moments of studying, traveling, and living together. In addition, I would express my gratitude to the course instructors for being such a shining example of a Christ-like person and serving as a role model to me.
먼저, 바울선교회 글로벌 인적 자원 개발센터(HRDC)에서 진행된 타문화권 적응 훈련에 참여하게 해주신 하나님께 감사드립니다. 또한 제 1기 중화권 선교사 훈련원을 위해 힘써주신 이0 선생님의 격려와 지도, 그리고 HRDC의 이승일 센터장님과 김혜원 선교사님이 보여주신 용납과 섬세한 도움에 감사드립니다. 더불어 FMT 코디네이터(제싸 선교사, 러블리 선교사)들과 스탭분들, 그리고 함께 훈련을 받은 13기 FMT(영어권 선교사 훈련)와 47기 KMT(한국인 선교사 훈련)에도 감사의 말씀을 전하고 싶습니다. 함께 훈련받고, 여행하였으며, 한 건물 안에서 공동체 생활하며 행복한 순간들을 함께 나눴습니다. 그리고 이곳에서 훈련받는 동안 그리스도를 닮은 사람이 어떤 사람인가 보여주시며 롤모델이 되신 강사님들께도 감사드립니다.

INSIGHTS THROUGH TRAINING (훈련을 통해 얻은 통찰력)
Secondly, The training I've received here has been incredibly enlightening. Through Cultural Anthropology and intercultural communication, Iʼve gained a deeper understanding of the differences between my own culture and that of the mission field. In the Creative Evangelism class, I've learned innovative ways to share the gospel, which has been truly inspiring. Being able to convey the truth in a captivating manner that grabs people's attention and leads them to God is an amazing experience. During our Faith trip, I had an opportunity to share these Creative Evangelism techniques with youth leaders from the Jesus is Lord Church. It was a fulfilling and meaningful experience that brought me great joy. This journey has also taught me the significance of equipping and mentoring the next generation. A special mention goes to Ma'am Sharon, who led the children in praying for each of us during our faith trip. This experience deeply touched me and strengthened my faith in God, understanding the power of prayer. This faith trip experience will stay in my heart forever. The English class was both enjoyable and enlightening, and during our team-building retreat at Laguna hot spring, I gained a deeper appreciation for the awe-inspiring beauty of God's creation. I'm thankful for the opportunity to learn Taekwondo, as it not only instills a sense of protection but also encourages me to lead a healthier lifestyle. Through periods of fasting and prayer, I've reflected on the countless blessings and instances of God's grace that I often overlooked or took for granted. Listening to the life stories of my fellow trainees, during the Fasting, has shown me the magnificence of God and how He works in diverse ways. It is my heartful confession that God has been my guiding light throughout this training, reminding me of how He has lifted me up. His faithfulness and boundless love have left me feeling overwhelmed with gratitude.
이곳에서의 훈련을 통해 저는 큰 교훈과 통찰력을 얻었습니다. 먼저 Cultural Anthropology(문화인류학)과 Intercultural Communication(문화 간 커뮤니케이션) 과목을 통해 제가 살아왔던 곳의 문화와 선교 현장의 문화 사이의 다양한 간극이 있음을 배웠습니다. 그리고 이를 통해 상호간의 차이를 이해하고 존중하며 선교하는 자세를 배웠습니다. 그리고 Creative Evangelism(창의적 전도법) 훈련을 통하여 효과적이면서도 창의적인 도구를 통해 복음 전파하는 방법을 배웠습니다. 진리를 전하기 위해 사람들의 관심을 끌고, 그들을 하나님께 인도하는 것은 큰 기쁨이 됨과 동시에 전도법에 대한 영감을 받게 되었습니다. 그리고 믿음 여행 중 Jesus is the Lord 교회의 청소년 지도자들을 만나 창의적 전도법을 공유할 기회가 있었는데, 이 모든 과정을 통해 저는 큰 기쁨을 경험할 수 있었습니다. 이 믿음 여행은 다음 세대를 준비하며, 멘토링의 중요성을 깨닫는 시간이었습니다. 특별히 믿음 여행 중 훈련원에 남아 있던 아이들, 그리고 우리를 위해 기도해 주신 김혜원 선교사님께 깊은 감사를 드립니다. 이 기간에 저는 깊은 감동 속에서, 그리고 그 기도 덕분에 강한 믿음을 가질 수 있었습니다. 이 경험은 제 안에 영원히 기억될 것입니다. 영어 수업을 통하여 즐거움과 함께 깨달음을 얻게 되었습니다. 라구나 온천에서 팀빌딩 소규모 회의를 했는데 하나님의 창조물을 바라보며 경외심과 아름다움에 대한 깊은 감사를 느끼게 되었습니다. 이 훈련 기간 동안 태권도를 배울 기회가 있어 감사드립니다. 이는 저 자신을 보호하는 것에 그치지 않고, 체력적으로 건강한 삶을 사는 데에 큰 힘이 되었습니다. 금식기도 기간에는 하나님의 은혜를 되돌아보며 그동안 너무 많은 축복을 간과하고 있었음을, 그래서 이를 세어보며 감사하지 못했음을 깨달았습니다. 함께 훈련받은 동료들을 바라보며 그들의 삶을 통해 하나님의 위대하심을, 그리고 하나님께서 다양한 방법으로 역사하신다는 것을 볼 수 있었습니다. 지금 이 간증을 준비하는 중에도 하나님은 나에게 인도하시는 빛이 되셨고, 그동안 어떻게 일으켜 세워 인도하셨는지를 되돌아보게 되었습니다. 하나님은 신실함으로, 그리고 문한한 사랑으로 제게 넘치는 감사를 고백하게 하셨습니다.

APPLICATION (삶의 적용)
I'll carry with me some valuable habits I learned during my training. First is a ‘Thankful heart.’ Each missionary candidate and leader used to share their three thanksgivings in three minutes during every Sunday Evening Service. It was so blessed moment to hear the voice of thanksgiving even in times of trouble. It helped me to shape a mindset of gratitude in me. Second is Quiet Time(QT). Before, I used to read a lot of chapters, but here I've learned that concentrating on a few verses and grasping their true significance is essential for applying them in daily life. This Q.T. helped me to build an intimate relationship with God. Third is a memory verse celebration. Every day, I recited one Bible verses before lunch time. And at the end of the month, I had to recite whole bible verses I memorized. It was not easy for me to recite the Bible verses in English, but I have to confess that the memory verse celebration is a wonderful opportunity to reinforce God's teachings in our minds. Fourth is an organized lifestyle. I observed how well-organized the HRDC program is, with a weekly schedule and rules that we were trained to follow. It encouraged me to live a diligent missionary life which pleased to God. I am grateful for all that I have learned and experienced at HRDC. It has been a transformative journey, and I will apply what I learned to wherever God leads me to serve.
저는 앞으로도 HRDC에서 터득한 값진 습관들을 제 삶 속에 적용하고자 합니다. 먼저 ‘감사하는 마음ʼ입니다. 매 주일 저녁 예배 때마다 훈련 선교사들은 센터장님 가정과 함께 예배드리며 세 가지 감사의 제목을 각자 3분 동안 나누는 시간을 가졌습니다. 힘들고 어려운 순간에도 감사의 제목을 발견하고 고백하는 목소리는 넘쳐났고, 이를 통해 큰 은혜와 함께 제 안에 감사가 풍성해짐을 느끼게 되었습니다. 두 번째는 ‘묵상(QT)ʼ입니다. 훈련 받기 전 성경을 많이 읽어왔다고 생각했는데, 이번 훈련을 통해 짧은 구절에 집중하고 그 안의 진정한 의미를 깨달으며 일상생활에 적용하는 것을 배웠습니다. 이는 제게 있어 하나님과의 친밀함을 형성하는데 큰 도움이 되었습니다. 세 번째는 ‘말씀 암송의 생활화ʼ입니다. 모든 점심 식사 시간마다 성경 구절을 암송하였고, 또한 매달 한 번씩 정해진 성경 구절을 암송하였습니다. 제게 있어 성경 말씀을 영어로 암송하는 것은 절대 쉽지 않았습니다. 그러나 말씀 암송을 통해 하나님께서 우리들을 말씀으로 지도하신다는 것을 제 삶 속에 각인시킬 기회가 되었습니다. 네 번째는 ‘체계적인 생활 방식ʼ입니다. HRDC에서의 모든 프로그램은 체계적으로 구성되어 있었습니다. 주간 및 연간 훈련 일정표를 따라 훈련 선교사들이 배워야 할 것들, 그리고 따라야 할 것들을 확인할 수 있었습니다. 이러한 체계적인 훈련은 저를 하나님께서 기뻐하시는 부지런한 선교사로 성장할 수 있도록 도와주었습니다. 저는 HRDC에서 배우고 경험한 모든 것에 감사드립니다. 이는 제 삶에서 획기적이면서도 큰 변혁을 일으키는 여정이었습니다. 그리고 하나님께서 저를 어느 땅으로 보내시던지, 그곳에서 늘 적용할 것입니다.
These two months here have been a great blessing to me, and leaving this place brings me great sadness. There is a ‘Cʼs proverb that says, "Just as there is no banquet forever in the world, no matter how wonderful the reunion is, we must eventually return to our mission field." Even though we part ways now, I believe that if we reunite someday, we can become the best colleagues. I hope that day will come. All glory and honor belong to God. May He bless us all.
두 달간 이곳에서 보낸 시간은 제게 큰 축복이었습니다. 그래서 이곳을 떠나게 되는 것이 큰 슬픔으로 다가옵니다. 제 모국의 속담에 ‘세상에 영원한 잔치는 없듯, 아무리 좋은 만남이라도 결국 우리에게 맡겨진 자리로 돌아가야 한다ʼ는 말이 있습니다. 지금은 비록 헤어지지만, 우리가 미래에 다시 만날 때 멋진 조화를 이뤄내는 팀이 될 것이라 확신합니다. 그래서 그날이 얼른 오기를 소망합니다. 하나님께 모든 영광을 올려드립니다.
